Position Description: 1. Teach courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs: e.g., Community Health; Medical Terminology; Methods of Health Promotion; Human Sexuality; Public Health Policy; Epidemiology; Substance Use and Abuse; etc. 2. Coordinate the BS Public Health and MS Health Promotion programs which will include: internship coordination for all BS Public Health students; coordinate assessment data collection; analysis; and reporting of BS Public Health and MS Health Promotion programs; assist with marketing and responding to graduate student inquiries; and other duties as assigned. 3. Taking the lead role in working toward achieving accreditation from the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for the BS Public Health; 4. Engaging in scholarship and community service appropriate to the discipline; 5. Serving on school, college, and university committees as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum of a terminal degree from an accredited institution and qualifications and experiences commensurate with associate professor rank.

Doctoral degree in Public Health preferred, but a doctoral degree in a related health field will be considered.

Must have a doctoral degree from an accredited or similarly accredited institution and possess the experience and documented achievements appropriate for consideration of associate professor rank.

Tenure on appointment could be considered if the appropriate experience and prior achievement of tenure is documented at the time of hire.

Familiarity with online synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.

Administrative experience in an educational setting.

Organization Description: The School of Health and Human Performance services students who major in Public Health (BS); Exercise Science (BS); and Athletic Training (BS). We also have two master’s programs: (1) MS with a concentration in Health Promotion or Human Performance; and a (2) Master of Arts in Teaching – Health and Physical Education. We anticipate transitioning the BS in Athletic Training to a MS in Athletic Training beginning Summer 2018. We also house multiple minors in Public Health; Physical Education; Outdoor Education; and Global Health Studies.

The employee is expected to contribute to the School of Health & Human Performance educational mission. Employees will be expected to instruct our students in the Public Health and Health Promotion disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
