Position Description: Role: The Program Coordinator will support the overall implementation of the Global Fund evaluation project, including coordinating the activities of the IIP-JHU team and working closely with IIP-JHU’s in-country partners for the project. This is a full- time faculty position (Research Associate level) within the International Health department. The position may include regular travel to the two project countries.

Responsibilities: • Support overall project progress in coordination with a team of faculty members at JHU-IIP • Communicate regularly with in- country partners, including administrative support for the sub-grant process and technical assistance for program implementation • Communicate with the JHU finance team and the donor to ensure work order budget submissions and progress reports are complete, accurate, finalized, and submitted on time • Propose and implement a plan to communicate findings in-country (e.g., policy briefs), globally (e.g., presentations and peer-reviewed manuscripts), and within JHU (e.g., web content) • Support countries to develop and implement their own communications plans including providing or organizing training in-country, as appropriate • Travel to countries as needed to provide project support

Qualifications: • Master’s degree in public health or other relevant discipline • Previous experience working in low-income countries, including familiarity with public health issues relevant to the work of the Global Fund • Previous experience with program coordination in an academic or non-profit environment • Willingness to travel up to several weeks at a time • Knowledge of large-scale program evaluation methodology preferred • Knowledge or experience with global HIV, malaria, or TB programs preferred • Fluency in Portuguese and /or French preferred

Organization Description: The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria has commissioned external groups to conduct in-depth prospective evaluations that utilize a variety of methods to provide a detailed picture of the implementation, effectiveness, and impact of Global Fund- supported programs in several countries. The Institute for International Programs at Johns Hopkins University (IIP-JHU) has been selected as the lead to carry out the Prospective Country Evaluations in Senegal and Mozambique.
