Position Description: The School of Nursing, Health, and Exercise Science at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full time, Tenure- Track, Assistant/Associate Professor position in Public Health beginning September, 2018. TCNJ currently offers a Bachelor of Science major and minor in Public Health, a 4 +1 Masters of Public Health, Public Health masters with emphasis on precision health, global health, and health communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective teaching (classroom and internship), scholarship, professional development, service, and advising. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities will comprise undergraduate and graduate courses, including foundational courses and electives in the applicant's area of expertise. Applicants must be committed to engaging undergraduate students in research and supervising students in off-campus internship experiences. The ideal candidate will seek an academic/administrative career in a comprehensive college that emphasizes teaching and learning in a teacher-scholar model.

Qualifications: Qualifications include an earned doctorate in public health or related field, and experience in MPH/BS and certificate programs. Preference will be given to faculty with experience and education in Environmental and Occupational Health, Health Policy, Health Systems, Health Disparities, Global Health, Precision Health, Health Communication, Community Health, Community Interventions, Research Methods and Program Evaluation. Qualified candidates with additional administrative experience in internship supervision and evaluation and student-faculty research are urged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate a strong research agenda, have experience in building partnerships and be successful obtaining internal and external funding. Successful experience building programs in public health and the ability to advance interdisciplinary program development engaging all seven schools at TCNJ are also preferred.
