Position Description: The Hepatitis B Foundation is a national non-profit to dedicated to addressing the public health challenge of hepatitis B, the leading cause of liver cancer and a major health disparity among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and African immigrants. We work across the U.S. to increase hepatitis B awareness, screening, vaccination and linkage to care, particularly for high-risk Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and African immigrants who are disproportionately impacted. In efforts to increase awareness and education efforts surrounding hepatitis B, the Hepatitis B Foundation and CHIPO (Coalition Against Hepatitis for People of African Origin) hope to create resources for the community. We are seeking a community health/health communications intern who can assist with efforts to design resources for the African immigrant community related to hepatitis B. Materials have the potential to be widely disseminated throughout the country. This intern would assist with the coordination of the African Immigrant Advisory Group on hepatitis B as well as resource development. Preferable applicants should be in graduate school but other strong candidates will be considered. This project can be done remotely and would meet the needs of a practicum or graduate research project.
