Position Description: This position will support the Environmental Public Health Tracking (EPHT) Program by analyzing data, publishing web apps, and developing reports. The EPHT Program is funded by the CDC National Environmental Public Health Tracking Program, which supports the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental health data. This work links health outcomes to environmental hazards. Data analysis will support the planning, implementation and evaluation of environmental health interventions in New Hampshire as well as outreach and communication of state-wide environmental health issues.

Responsibilities: • Evaluates data and statistical content, in accordance with the state health improvement plan, to ensure the coordination of environmental health- related services offered by state and local public health agencies. • Supervises data entry and data analysis performed for the NH EPHT Program. • Makes recommendations for administrative simplification, cost savings, and knowledge sharing efficiencies by evaluating existing data systems for potential contributions to the development of an environmental health data tracking system. • Evaluates health planning activities relevant to environmental health to ensure coordination with other federal, state and local agencies, both public and private, in order to obtain complete and accurate data as needed to validate information and reduce duplication of data storage and maintenance. • Reviews research papers and analyses reports and technical summaries prepared by others, evaluates health-planning activities relevant to environmental health. • Prepares statistical reports which increase the understanding of the relationship between environment factors, determinants of health, and health outcomes. • Interprets data from a policy perspective, prepares or supervises the preparation of annual reports, and/or other analytical papers on findings, and presents the papers and reports to appropriate audiences. • Provides technical assistance to Department officials collecting or designing data collection activities, and consultation to governmental agencies and to the private sector on the interpretation and analyses of environmental health data. • Evaluates needs and requirements for environmental health information and develops recommendations on how to meet those needs.

Qualifications: Education: Master's degree from a recognized university with major study in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, earth sciences, public health or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Four years' experience in the design, development, or management of programs for the collection, analysis and reporting of data preferably in the area of public health or human services program management, with responsibility for program planning, monitoring and evaluation. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
