Position Description: Faculty are responsible for instruction in advanced undergraduate statistics and statistical support courses, epidemiology and public health, pre-health student advising, and other service and scholarship commensurate with rank.

Serve as instructor for undergraduate public health courses Work collaboratively with administrators, faculty and staff in the School of Arts & Sciences and with the MCPHS BSPH and MPH programs to continuously review curriculum needs and offerings Engage in service assignments related to the undergraduate Public Health major, including pre-health advising, student mentoring, committee work, and ongoing program development and assessment Produce scholarship resulting in conference presentations, publishable manuscripts, peer-reviewed instructional materials, or other outcomes consistent with expectations for scholarly activities described in the Faculty Manual Participate in Open House or other University-wide student recruitment events, as needed

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Dean of Arts & Sciences.

Rank is commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications: Required:

Doctoral degree in Public Health required with concentration in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Statistics preferred College teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence in public health field required Record of scholarly activities commensurate with appointment at the assistant professor level and evidence of potential for continuing professional development Experience with public health student advising and degree programs preferred Demonstrated ability using statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, SUDAAN, NVivo, etc.) for the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues Commitment to undergraduate education and student success Ability to mentor and advise undergraduates with diverse career interests
