Position Description: Responsibilities:

The Health Program Aide will provide critical program support by performing a wide variety of grant related project activities and tasks to support the work of professional and research positions at the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) at the University at Albany School of Public Health. The incumbent will assist in all aspects of research including coordinating survey responses, data entry and data cleaning as needed, working with survey respondents on technical assistance issues, researching health care issues, and following up with non-respondents; working with CHWS staff members to develop provider databases, including conducting Internet searches to identify provider addresses and locations; assisting in project management including tracking deliverables and managing deadlines; assisting CHWS staff in developing research reports and briefs, including creating charts and graphs, proofreading, and finalizing reports; and working with CHWS staff to set up and coordinate training webinars, including preparing PowerPoint slides.

Qualifications: Associate's degree and one year of administrative or secretarial experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative or secretarial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Health, Liberal Arts, or other relevant field. • Proficiency using personal computers, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and using the Internet for online searches. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including telephone skills. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including proven ability to respond to outside requests in a timely and appropriate manner. • Excellent project management and organizational skills. • The ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks in a busy office environment. • Proofreading skills and attention to detail.
