Position Description: Responsibilities:

The Program Research Specialist II in the AIDS Institute’s Office of Program Evaluation and Research (OPER). Under the supervision of a Project Manager, the incumbent will be involved in the design, development, and implementation of program evaluation projects supported by CDC’s Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention Grant. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to- day operations of assigned projects, including literature review, development of surveys and other data tools, data collection and data management, data analysis and reporting, and presentation of findings to project teams, management, and professional audience as appropriate.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field and two years of research experience in the collection and evaluation of data. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social and Behavioral Sciences or a related field; background and experience in drug user health, medication assisted treatment for opioid dependence, and harm reduction strategies; experience in collection and management of public health program data for evaluation purposes; experience in data analysis using SAS, R, SPSS, Excel and/or other analytical and data management tools; ability to work well and communicate effectively with persons of varying educations and cultural backgrounds; ability to prepare reports, tools and other documents; excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; capacity to work independently.
