Position Description: Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To contribute to St. Luke`s unique identity as an international university with an interdisciplinary culture and growing graduate programs.

To be with strong interest and skills in teaching and research in areas of public health, epidemiology, and research methods in own fields. To teach core courses in own department area at the graduate level, graduate-level courses/seminars in own individual area of expertise. The typical teaching assignment is 1-2 courses/seminars per 15-week semester, alongside correspondingly reasonable expectations for scholarship, mentoring, and service.

To be a passionate teacher, a committed mentor, and produce the highest quality scholarship.

To engage in creative teaching methods, produce strong research, possess excellent communication skills in English and/or Japanese, be devoted mentors for students and colleagues, and provide service to the institution.

This job description provides a framework for the role and it may be necessary for Professor to undertake any duties commensurate with the post as might reasonably be required.

Qualifications: Person with proper academic and research background and special knowledge/achievements in this field as a major, corresponding to the following items. The applicant must have a doctoral degree and excellent educational achievements in this field as a major, and be able to lecture and provide supervision in this field through English language medium. ??At least 5 years’ experience at associate professor level at this or another university ??Experience at professor level at another university ??Outstanding practical experience and past leadership activities ??Experience/abilities exceeding those under the above-mentioned points 1) to 3)
