Position Description: This skilled individual will be responsible analyzing a broad and complex range of administrative, clinical, program and population health data. The Epidemiologist will collaborate with other division epidemiologists at the local and state level. The successful candidate will conduct literature reviews, support data sharing initiates, provide data and technical evaluation assistance design and develop databases and use innovate data visualization techniques to convey data interpretation.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications: Proficiency with statistical software (SAS, R, etc.). Thorough knowledge and understanding of study design, epidemiology theory and basic public health practice. Extracting, cleaning and managing data from several administrative, clinical, program and population sources. Conducting accurate and verified descriptive and statistical analyses of data. Able to interpret findings and prepare materials. Preparation of reports for dissemination. Design evaluation plans (with guidance from the chief epidemiologist) and analysis plans to conduct qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Collaborating on needs assessments. Providing trainings and/or consultation to staff and stakeholders. Participating in grant applications, progress reports or other deliverables.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics or a health related field from an accredited college or university.

Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.
