Position Description: The mission of DOH is to protect and improve the health of the people of Washington State. The work of this office is focused on immunizations, a cornerstone of public health work to reduce morbidity and mortality from vaccine preventable disease. The duties and responsibilities of the Assessment Supervisor link to the mission in providing consultation, education and technical assistance with immunzation co coverage through assessment, epidemiologic pr practice and data analysis in addition to pl planning, coordinating, conducting, an analyzing, interpreting, and reporting the fi findings from public health surveillance sy systems and advanced epidemiologic studies as as they relate to immunization coverage.

This is a full-time permanent Epidemiologist 3 (Non-Medical) position in the Division of Prevention and Community Health, Office of Immunization and Child Profile (OICP). This recruitment may be used to fill other Epidemiologist 3 (Non-Medical) positions w within the office.

Qualifications: • Ph.D. in one of the physical, biological, social, behavioral, or health-related sciences; AND two (2) or more years (full related sciences; AND two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience equi equivalent to an Epidemiologist 2 or 3.


• Master’s degree or higher in epidemiology or public health, which includes 12 graduate quarter hours (500 level or above) in epidemiology and 12 graduate quarter hours in biostatistics; AND six (6) or more years (full-time equi equivalency) of experience in epidemiology rese research and analysis.


• Advanced-level experience using MS Ex Excel software to develop complex sp spreadsheets with macros, multiple math fu functions, advanced filters, and links to ex external sources of information. Create cu custom toolbars and chart types, and use da data analysis tools.

• Demonstrated experience using st statistical analysis software such as SAS, SQ SQL, STATA and R.

• Two (2) or more years of management or or lead experience overseeing the work of pr professional staff.

• Demonstrated experience co communicating complex concepts clearly and ef effectively both in writing and verbally to st staff, management, and the public.

• Demonstrated experience applying q quality improvement tools to improve e efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality i improvement.
