The Bureau of Epidemiology Services seeks a highly skilled and innovative data analyst to work in the Research and Evaluation Unit, reporting to the Lead Evaluation Researcher. The data analyst will perform ongoing evaluation and epidemiologic research and evaluation of a supportive housing program for people at risk of homelessness. Using expertise in methods, the data analyst will proactively engage with other internal and external researchers to create opportunities for collaboration and consultation.
Duties will include: •Propose analytic strategies and innovative research ideas, and conduct a wide range of statistical analyses of supportive housing data
•Provide data checking on analyses for various supportive housing peer reviewed manuscripts and reports when needed. •Maintain and update matched administrative data using SQL
•Lead data linkage projects (i.e., lead matching of multiple administrative data from DOHMH groups and NYC/NYS agencies; collaborate with IT to perform and evaluation probability data matching)
•Provide consultation to other DOHMH data analysts on epidemiologic study designs, analytic methods, and interpretations of results
•Write technical and research/evaluation publications with other staff within the bureau and DOHMH and outside the agency that are important to the DOHMH mission. •Work closely with Bureau leadership and staff, as well as other bureaus, to collaborate on and coordinate analysis and research and evaluation
•Create visualizations and presentations summarizing data and research/evaluation
•Participate in a multi-agency supportive housing work group
