Position Description: The University of Maryland, Baltimore Department of Pediatrics, Division of Immunology has a challenging new opportunity for a Manager of Programs to work with youth and young adults as a part of a community health program. This position will be responsible for the implementation of HIV prevention and care services offered through a new initiative to link youth and young adults living with HIV or at risk for HIV to cutting edge medical care and treatment throughout the state of Maryland. This position will serve as primary contact for the statewide HIV prevention intervention and oversee the day-to-day operation of the program.

This is an exempt, regular position and offers a generous benefits package that includes 22 vacation days, 14 floating and observed holidays, 15 sick days; comprehensive health insurance and retirement options; and tuition remission for employees and their dependents at any of the University System of Maryland schools.

Essential Functions

Provides general planning and direction in order to develop and facilitate the day-to-day activities and operations of the STAR-TRACK (Special Teens At Risk – Together Reaching Access, Care, and Knowledge) Statewide Prevention Team.
Produces regular summary reports and programmatic updates on outreach, prevention events and activities, and coalition work per grant report requirement.
Provides direction around the development of social media and various promotional materials.
Maintains databases used to collect and analyze data, track expenditures and maintain budgets for Prevention Team.
Monitors and evaluates program operating policies and procedures.
Works with Program Director to develop program goals and milestones, specifically related to intersectional and innovative HIV prevention and health promotion strategies. This includes behavioral and biomedical interventions
Ensures efficient recruitment, orientation, training, and talent retention for maintaining highly involved and motivated employees.
Performs other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Experience: 4 years of experience in a related field with at least 2 years supervisor, program planning and coordination experience required.

Preferred Education: Master's degree in a related field.

Proven leadership, coaching, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships.
Strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve programs and make decisions.
Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects, as well as conduct research and gather information.
Experience working with youth and young adults.
Experience working with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender populations.
Knowledgeable about social determinants of health and how they impact access to treatment and care for minority groups.
