Position Description: This position will improve safe prescribing practices and work to prevent prescription drug overuse, misuse, abuse, and overdose. This position will coordinate the sharing and analysis of public health and public safety information with law enforcement agencies across the state to identify current and emerging hot spots (areas with high overdose risk), and risk factors and deploy prevention resources to targeted areas. Incumbent will provide technical assistance and facilitate training, to Law Enforcement agencies on naloxone carry-and- administer programs. Incumbent will develop processes to connect overdose survivors and high-risk individuals to those re-entering the community from prisons and jails, to treatment and prevention services, in collaboration with law enforcement, corrections and community work groups. The position will also research and develop new prescription opioid and naloxone policies, initiatives, and tasks as they relate to law enforcement.

This position is a Pay Band 70.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) or more years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
