Position Description: We are searching for two Temporary Part- Time (40% FTE approximately 15 hours per week) Research Assistant II positions located in the Louisville, KY Area to provide support for an early childhood education evaluation involving classroom observation. The persons hired in this position will assist our staff on this project by conducting this evaluation, and collecting and analyzing data through observations of Pre-K classrooms at early childhood education centers located throughout Kentuckiana from late August through December. We are seeking dependable persons with morning availability who enjoy being around preschoolers. Local travel to these centers for data collection in the Kentuckiana Area will be required. Candidates should have access to reliable personal transportation; mileage will be reimbursed. Please submit cover letter with application. Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Collecting data through observation in Pre-K classrooms using ITERS-R and ECERS-3 (Training will be required) to evaluate the learning environment (i.e., teacher-child interactions, classroom structure) • Uploading classroom data into an excel file and pictures into Dropbox • Taking notes of what is observed • Effectively communicating with other project staff to achieve the above goals

Qualifications: Job Requirements:

• Experience working independently as well as part of a research team to coordinate specific activities Flexibility • Strong organizational and problem- solving skills • Access to reliable personal transportation to travel locally within the Kentuckiana Area to conduct research activities • Morning availability during weekdays (8am-12pm) Preferred: • Masters or BA with research or evaluation experience • Some experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection • Knowledge or interest in early childhood education • Proficiency with Excel
