Position Description: Position Description: The Tennessee Dep Department of Health (TDH) is currently rec recruiting a Clinical Application Coo Coordinator (CAC) 2 position to assist in the the coordination of electronic data int interchange (EDI) and interoperability inf infrastructure as a part of the Office of Inf Informatics and Analytics (OIA). This pos position will serve as the informatics lia liaison regarding electronic data int interchange and interface activities and wil will work closely with other members of the OIA OIA, various TDH divisions and program are areas, and with the Information Technology Ser Services Division (ITSD).

Key Responsibilities: • Providing consultation on syntax and s semantic requirements • Assisting with documentation of e existing and new interfaces • Exploring, implementing, and m maintaining EDI validation procedures • Providing assistance on the d development and execution of new interface • Supporting EDI related activities s surrounding projects of the Office of I Informatics and Analytics (OIA) including e electronic case reporting and overdose r reporting • Assist with department wide c coordination, documentation, implementation a and maintenance of EDI transport mechanisms • Assisting with Informatics related proj projects and strategic planning

As a member of the Office of Informatics and An Analytics, this individual will get exposure an and experience in the use and development of in interoperability standards, like HL7, and wi will have the opportunity to work on a wide ra range of informatics projects including sy system integration, system interoperability, el electronic health record implementation, and sp specific public health reporting projects li like electronic case reporting and overdose re reporting.

This position may require some in-state and possible out-of-state travel. There is also the the potential for presentation and public spe speaking opportunities. Informatics staff wil will assist with emergency response sit situations when necessary.

Salary will be based on education and e experience with a minimum starting rate of $ $5,482 per month.

Qualifications: Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in public health, health sciences, health services, health informatics, health care administration or nursing and two (2) years’ experience in depl deployment or implementation of application syst systems (clinical preferred), or a related fiel field with a strong foundation in system desi design, analysis, and evaluation; and prior expe experience on the successful implementation of a of a nationally recognized electronic health reco record system is preferred.


Bachelor Degree in public health, health services, health science, health informatics, health care administration, or nursing with five (5) years’ experience with deplo deployment or implementation of applications syste systems (clinical preferred), or a related field field with a foundation in systems design, analy analysis, and evaluation. Prior experience in as in assisting with the successful imple implementation of a nationally recognized elect electronic health record system is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in health care related interface d design, development, and implementation and e experience in Health Level 7 or other i interoperability standards, and experience i in electronic data interchange tools p preferred.
