The Program Coordinator is a professional management level classification that provides administrative, analytical, planning, and management support for programs and projects where substantive administrative, policy and/or technical issues require specialized analysis, recommendation and implementation.

The current opening is in the Chronic Disease and Health Equity (CDHE) Unit of the Maternal, Child, and Family Health Services (MCFHS) Branch; however, this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in other HHSA departments. The CDHE Unit, whose programs are known collectively as Healthy Works, seeks a team-oriented, visionary, and strategic leader who will be responsible for guiding the Unit's efforts in focus areas including advancing healthy food systems, active living, land use and transportation planning, worksite wellness, tobacco use prevention and control, community- clinical linkages, and health system interventions. Through all of these efforts, it is expected that there will be a concerted effort to integrate improvement in the social determinants of health.

Qualifications: Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in one (1) of the disciplines listed below, and will have experience in chronic disease prevention program management and grant administration, use of integrated research and planning, and project management. This candidate will provide leadership utilizing a team approach that maximizes the innovation, talents, and skills of staff. The abilities to engage a diverse range of stakeholders and organizations, and to develop and maintain strategic relationships and collaborations among internal and external stakeholders, including community- based organizations, coalitions, funding agencies, and policy makers are highly desirable for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency, AND, four (4) years of professional experience performing analysis, budget management, program administration, engineering, or closely related work in a program performing planning and analysis; OR a combination of education and/or experience as stated above.
