Position Description: Background:

As a part of the Canadian government’s initiative to improve accountability for its maternal and child health investments, IIP is leading the development of new tools to assist countries and Canadian partners in implementing strong measurement approaches for MNCH&N programs. In addition to developing the tools and validating their application in low-income country settings, IIP will provide capacity building and technical assistance to Canadian experts who will support implementers of MNCH&N activities globally.


The Program Coordinator will support RADAR project, including coordinating the activities of the IIP-JHU team and working closely with IIP-JHU’s in-country partners for the project. This is a full-time faculty position (Research Associate level) within the International Health department. The position may include regular travel to the project countries.


Implementation Strength Assessment / Quality of Care

Support team members in development of ISA and QOC tools, including: Background research and consultation to identify globally-recognized indicators and methods for collecting process and output data Supporting experts consultancy meetings to finalize tools Developing and testing tools to capture implementation strength and/or quality of care of maternal, child health, nutrition and sexual, reproductive health programs Creating and testing electronic tools to collect these data (CAPI) Supporting field-based implementation of tools

Qualifications: Strong written and spoken French skills preferred Master’s degree in Public Health, International Development, or related field Previous international program coordination/management experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge (success in a class counts) or previous experience in evaluation Aptitude and interest in quantitative aspects of evaluation (e.g., indicators, measurement) Good at working intensively alone as needed, but also in teams to produce results Strong, concise and clear scientific writing would be a plus Flexibility, creativity, and willingness to help where and when needed would be a plus
