Position Description: The Health Educator is responsible for providing leadership in the development and coordination of Perimeter College student wellness programs and services delivered through the Student Health Promotion department. This position is located on the Dunwoody campus and will perform the following duties: Implements and evaluates wellness education programs and services that address health issues faced by today's college students (e.g. alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, human sexuality, stress management, smoking cessation) including the coordination and facilitation. Collaborates with University colleagues by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, partnerships and co-sponsorships with a variety of administrative and academic departments (e.g., Health Services, Counseling Center, Recreational Services, and University Housing. Collaborates with the Assistant Director, Student Wellness in the development of Student Health Promotion & Education mission and strategic plan (including goals, objectives, and learning outcomes); participates in executing a comprehensive unit assessment plan to measure student learning. Recruits, trains and supervises students in the peer education programs and works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Student Wellness to evaluate the effectiveness of the peer health educator training program and modify as needed for optimal results. Serves on University and Division committees and assists with special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director. Advises health-related student organizations in the design and facilitation of co-curricular experiences that heighten health education awareness.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Health Education or a related field and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
