Position Description: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the CDC Foundation, the Human Resource Manager will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources, recruiting and training functions of the Foundation. This position plays a key role in executing a talent agenda that aligns with the Foundation’s business strategy and priorities. HR Manager is expected to work closely with the CEO and COO to execute agreed upon initiatives designed to address performance at both the individual and team levels. This position will support the following initiatives: employee relations, training, performance management, workforce effectiveness/organizational design, individual development planning, recruitment/selection, and compensation. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: HR Advocacy - Position HR as the conscience of the company by reinforcing the culture and taking a proactive approach to supporting and promoting the company values and Standards of Conduct. Recruiting/Staffing - Designs, develops and maintains the recruitment process in the organization which includes recruiting, interviewing, testing and assisting with selection of exempt and non-exempt positions. Oversee job description, position requisition and job posting processes. Ensure consistent on-boarding and off- boarding process. Ensure employee files are complete and in compliance with federal, state, and company hiring policies. Performance Management - Advise departments on goal setting and performance reviews, providing instruction on timeline and process. Ensure that business partners are provided counsel on performance ratings and effective communication/coaching to employees. Employee Relations - Oversee employee relations issues and investigations, including corrective action, performance management and succession planning. Oversee the investigation of unfair treatment/discrimination charges, harassment complaints, wrongful terminations, wage/hour issues and other potential legal matters (in partnership with Legal). Monitor and analyze employee turnover and other HR metrics, and develop appropriate action plans to address identified needs. Diversity - Ensure inclusion and an open/equitable work environment for all employees related to programs, policies and procedures. Promote diversity in staffing. Communication - Provide information to departments in a timely and effective manner utilizing standard communication tools identified for all levels of the organization. Partner with HRIS resources to ensure effective and appropriate reports are in place to analyze business needs and proactively impact change. Develop and maintain a human resources system (HRIS) that meets staff information needs. Compensation & Benefits - Act as a resource to business partners regarding compensation and benefit issues. Coach leadership on salary increase recommendations and new hires, promotions and other staffing changes. Leads the development of benefit orientations and other benefits trainings. Staff Engagement and Recognition - Work with executive team to identify effective ways to recognize employees. Design strategies to improve overall morale while measuring and assessing the level of improvement. Compliance - Ensure legal compliance in such areas as EEO, I-9's, poster compliance, minors, wage/hour, testing, etc. Ensure implementation and monitor compliance of existing company policies and programs such as postings, orientation, retention, exit interviews, and revisions to handbooks/manuals and orientation materials. Leads the implementation of company safety and health programs. Monitors the tracking of OSHA-required data. Develops and maintains affirmative action program. Management Development/Training - Assess Foundation needs and implement consistent strategies relating to management development. Support performance management process to ensure that continuous improvement and implementation of best practices occurs. Assess training needs in order to make recommendations to management. Coordinates all Human Resources training programs; provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports. Provide orientation for newly hired employees; work with Managers to ensure adequate on-the-job training to help employees succeed in their job.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required in Human Resource Management or Business Management. Master Degree in Business Administration, Labor Relations or Human Resources Management a plus. • 7 + years of Human Resources experience in HR positions. • Professional HR designation - SHRM –CP (PHR) or SHRM-SCP preferred. • Broad generalist experience with solid recruiting, employee relations, organizational development and communication expertise. • Strong business partnership skills: ability to establish credibility and rapport with key stakeholders. • Strong preference experience in organizations that have a field employee and headquarter structure. • Computer proficient (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with ADP or Paycom payroll software a plus. • Must be able to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without losing sight of timeframes and deadlines. • Excellent critical thinking, strong problem solving skills and decision making skills • Ability to listen well, comprehend, analyze situations and develop solutions and actionable items based on facts and analytics • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to effectively present to all levels of the organization
