Position Description: Provide research design, statistical programming and data analysis support and collaboration for biomedical research projects.

Perform data management, data cleaning, and data coding.

Participate in manuscript preparation and grant proposal development, and report writing.

Perform related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics from an accredited college or university

In-depth statistical programming knowledge and skills, and familiarity with R and/or SAS

In-depth knowledge and experience of common and advanced biostatistical techniques applicable to biomedical research

Demonstrated ability and skills to support and collaborate on research projects and produce outcomes, such as peer-reviewed publications

Demonstrated ability to plan and organize assigned activities to achieve project outcomes

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

At least 3 years of full-time, post-graduate statistical programming and data analysis experience.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in project management at an academic core service facility

Teaching experience

Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: large clinical/healthcare databases, bioinformatics data analysis, clinical trial data management and analysis, database design and management

Course work, degree, or research experience in a biomedical related field.

Organization Description: The Office of Biostatistics and Quantitative Health Sciences (BQHS) at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, consisting of a team of biostatisticians, bioinformaticians, and database specialists was founded in 2011 to provide high quality, efficient, and reliable quantitative health sciences service and collaborations to the university and its affiliated institutions. We are located on the second floor of the Biosciences Building at the John. A Burns School of Medicine in Kaka'ako.
