Position Description:

JOB TITLE: Data Entry Analyst I (Temporary)





TRAVEL: None expected

IHRC, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients.  The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of IHRC, Inc., and will be assigned to the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) at the CDC, Atlanta, GA, to provide support for the DGMQ.


The Data Entry Analyst I will provide services to satisfy the overall epidemiologic and public health operational objectives for the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date in December 19, 2017.


  • Perform orderly storage of all medical documents that have completed the data entry process (i.e., notifications sent to health departments)
  • Resolve EDN-related inquiries in a timely manner via phone line and email, relay EDN technical issues to informatics team
  • Participate as a team member of the EDN Data Entry Analyst team providing highly motivated, dedicated, professional services to the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ)
  • Process records of refugees and immigrants with medical conditions
  • Scan and enter all incoming refugee and immigrant records into the EDN system for transmission to state and local health departments
  • Participate in efforts to optimize current data entry center procedures to ensure accurate and timely data entry for notification to state and local health departments
  • Uphold appropriate measures for data security
  • Provide input for quality assurance reports
  • Log incoming medical records
  • Sort and file documents
  • Send, receive and log FedEx packages
  • Scan medical forms and supporting documents
  • Accurately and promptly enter data contained in all medical forms received into the system



Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, to include email, Excel, and Word software.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills – approx. 50 wpm
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to deliver on allocated tasks and respond in a timely manner to deadlines
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work


  • Federal government work experience is highly desirable but not required

Language Skills:

  • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English


  • Must be United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States
