Position Description: Ariadne Labs seeks an experienced instructional designer to lead the development of curriculum to train health systems and institutions participating in a year-long collaborative on how to implement the Serious Illness Care Program. The collaborative includes two in-person trainings and ongoing distance coaching. The resulting curriculum package will be used as a framework for implementation trainings across other programs and projects at Ariadne Labs.

Responsibilities:

- Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify what participants need to learn in the face-to-face trainings and distance coaching

- Develop objectives with Subject Matter Experts and ensure content matches those objectives

- Revise and rewrite content to shape it for learning needs

- Structure content and activities for participant learning

- Create media to support learning (e.g., visual aids for face-to-face, various multimedia for e-learning and online)

- Contribute to the development of assessments and evaluations for the face-to-face training course and distance coaching

- Develop user-friendly instructional materials for facilitators and participants

- Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format

Qualifications: Required:

- 5-7 years experience in the development of training and coaching programs; experience specifically in a non-profit and / or health care environment a plus

- Ability to apply educational theory to practice, and experience directly with instructional design or similar environment

- Ability to develop curricula using learner-centered methods and adult learning principles, including multiple learning styles and techniques

- Excellent oral and written communication, and social skills

- Ability to effectively present ideas and information in a variety of formats to a range of audiences, including project managers and clinicians

- Ability to work independently, prioritizing issues and recognizing when they need to be escalated

- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain good working relationships

- Possess good MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and G Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc) skills

Preferred:

- Experience with online and in-person curricula

- Exposure to multiple subject areas in several different contexts

- Proximity to Boston to join Ariadne Labs team in-person for meetings and review of content and curriculum
