Division & Project Overview: The Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT) is one of three international program divisions at URC/CHS and manages field-based health and development programs through a range of U.S. government funding mechanisms, including USAID, CDC, and MCC. CIT currently supports projects in more than a dozen countries in Southern Africa, Asia, and the Middle East among which is the USAID TBCARE II Global Project. Roles and Responsibilities: The Program Officer position will provide technical support to the CIT projects as assigned. This includes supporting headquarters and field teams in work planning, results monitoring, documentation of achievements including report writing, and development of new technical strategies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: • Provide technical support to programs focusing on areas such as: Tuberculosis, Malaria, HIV; MNCH, nutrition; family planning; WASH; Public Health Surveillance, Research and Development, Monitoring and Evaluations, and community mobilization. This includes support for work planning, results monitoring, documentation of achievements, and coordinating program consultant needs. • Assist in advancing CIT’s mHealth tools, solutions and technologies. • Work with CIT HQ team and field staff to document project activities via an array of communications platforms (web stories, project briefs, journal articles etc.) utilizing both scholarly and mass media outlets • Assist to edit and finalize project reports, publications, and other written material • Organize and manage project publication inventory • Manage CIT quarterly project newsletter • Work with other project staff to document project activities on an as-needed basis • Assist to identify dissemination and documentation outlets • Coordinate support to ensure achievement of project deliverables and mobilization of program inputs, including technical assistance, contracts, budgets, procurement and human resources. • Assist in developing and ensuring high quality project deliverables to include routine donor-required reports, technical briefs, summaries and success stories. These deliverables may require writing, editing, proofreading, translating and/or coordinating translation services. • Provide lead inputs with senior field staff in the development of annual country workplans; • Assist in developing and ensuring quality of project deliverables which will include review/ writing of technical deliverables, i.e., annual reports, final reports, evaluations, project assessments • Support the management of partnerships and local sub-grants in coordination with the respective Project Director, Corporate Monitor, and HQ management teams. • Assist with the preparation of technical documents and PR publications about CIT project. • Develop/ update program descriptions, communications materials, and compile best practices. • Program data analysis and presentation. • Monitor technical developments in project supported fields; help keep field staff abreast of new developments/ approaches/ methodologies, i.e., potential for private sector engagement, new technologies or tools. • Participate in CIT internal data quality audit (DQA) of its programs in different countries on technical aspects as a means to verify reported performance as well as to enhance monitoring and reporting systems Business Development: • Contribute to long term business development strategy for CIT project areas • Support and/or lead proposal coordination as needed Minimum Qualifications: Required Experience & Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in the field related to Public Health, Healthcare Administration, International Relations, or Journalism • At least two (2) year of work experience of similar scope and complexities • Experience working with USAID or other U.S. government procedures and regulations is preferred. • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel is required; proficiency in MS Power Point is desired. • Individual must be self-motivated and willing to self-direct, Must be able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision. • Strong attention to detail, flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy • Must have excellent communication skills, good professional judgment and capacity to work well independently and as part of a team.
