Position Description: The American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a detail-oriented individual to design tools and processes to collect, analyze and report data analytics. This position will be part of a team that improves pediatric practice processes and patient outcomes for AAP quality improvement networks.

Reporting to the Director of the Division of Chapter Quality Improvement Initiatives, this individual will perform the following job duties:

1. Manage the data analytics for quality improvement projects, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, data merging, integrity, security and reporting and prepare management level reports using VBA, SQL, XML and Java programming languages. 2. Identify and build data reports, identify trends, document project progress and provide analysis for quality improvement projects, and collaborate with relevant AAP staff and members and quality advisors to ensure the translation of measures into data collection instruments and quality performance reports. 3. Work with network staff to develop and maintain internal and user support documentation for quality improvement data collection and analysis. 4. Develop data reports for quality improvement projects and participants to identify, analyze and interpret trends and areas of needed focus. 5. Work closely with project staff and physician project leaders and participants to incorporate data learnings into practice change. 6. Lead the design and implementation of data quality and validation protocols for quality improvement initiatives. 7. Serve as liaison for registry vendors, managing progress, prioritizing tasks and ensuring vendors meet requirements as outlined in contracts and statements of work. 8. Serve on cross functional teams to support quality improvement data collection strategies across the AAP.

Qualifications: Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences, health administration, public health, information technology, statistics, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Formal SQL training preferred. 2. Minimum three years’ project management experience and/or supporting research activities required, including intermediate quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; assessment and data collection techniques; database management, including SQL program evaluation and study design. 3. Knowledge of health information systems (EHR, EMR) and statistics strongly preferred.
