Compensation: $19.63-$24.63/hour
Position Description: In coordination with the MDHHS Prescription Drug Overdose: Data-Driven Prevention-Initiative (PDO: DPPI) Coordinator, Program Evaluator, and Epidemiologist, assist with data collection, analysis, translation, and dissemination of information related to opioid and heroin misuse and overdoses. This program will enhance public health surveillance and education efforts, as well as interventions to prevent prescription drug (opioid) and heroin overdoses.

Qualifications: Possession of Bachelor degree; statistics, mathematics, coursework in epidemiology preferred.

A minimum of one year experience in data in the analysis of health related data and the translation of epi data for general populations.

Experience with databases and knowledge on reporting tools such as Excel, ACCESS, SPSS and Microsoft Reports Builder. Ability to think analytically, extract large amounts of data from various sources, perform data comparison and validation, identify trends, and draw valid conclusions. Develop reports in written and visual form, including graphs and charts, which accurately present data in a format that is easy to understand and appropriate for the audience. Ability to identify issues and inconsistencies and apply innovative approaches to solving problems. Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and consistency. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with program team members to accomplish projects.
