Position Description: The Request for Consultancy (RFC) covers provision of technical assistance to the Task Force for Global Health’s Children Without Worms (CWW) program. Services will improve technical and management capacity of national soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH) control programs to deliver a comprehensive package of interventions with full coverage of at-risk populations.

Engagement term. Six months (renewal is possible).

Honorarium/Payment. Based on educational- level and experience

Qualifications: Minimum 1) Master’s degree in public health or related field. 2) At least three (3) years of demonstrated field experience providing technical advisory support to a global health program. 3) At least five (5) years of experience in the design and delivery of public health program interventions and their monitoring. 4) Experienced in epidemiologic data analysis and scientific manuscript writing (at least 2 scientific papers published as first author in peer-reviewed journal). 5) Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and using program data to guide programmatic decision-making. 6) Consultant must be authorized to work in and be based in the United States.

Preferred 7) PhD/DrPH in epidemiology or related field 8) Based in the Atlanta-area (GA, USA) or willing to frequently travel to Atlanta.

Organization Description: The engaged individual will be an independent contractor. Once signed, the consultancy contract does not create an employment relationship between the Contractor and the Task Force for Global Health.

Additional Information: ANNEX 1 – TERMS OF REFERENCE The Consultant will lead in performing the following services under the guidance of the Director CWW: 1) Provide technical guidance to national STH program(s) including for the design and implementation of parasitologic surveys (e.g. in 4-6 Bangladeshi districts). 2) Revise parasitologic survey protocol and tools based on lessons learned during survey implementation – as needed. 3) Oversee data analyses and draft manuscript (s) for peer-reviewed journals based on parasitologic surveys. The surveys occur after multiple rounds of mass drug administration in Bangladesh. While serving as an author, collaboratively conduct the following: a) Create a data analysis plan. b) Review existing datasets and clean, as necessary. c) Conduct data analyses. d) Draft manuscript and submit to respective co-authors for review. e) Revise based on co-author feedback. f) With approval from CWW, submit for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. 4) Conduct a literature review on STH control guidelines for women of child- bearing age and make recommendations towards a global guidance to inform related WHO guidance. 5) Conduct baseline reviews of STH programs’ data quality issues for five (5) selected countries, identify issues and challenges, and develop supportive tools and agenda for the AFRO/CWW/RPRG meeting in October 2017. Examples of data quality improvement areas are private sector deworming, unscheduled deworming and national deworming data collection and reporting, and disease- specific data comparability across and within countries. 6) At the end of the consultancy period, provide actionable technical and programmatic advice to CWW through a final report. The report shall follow the defined format: a) Summary of activities conducted by the consultant. b) Key challenges encountered, actions taken to overcome those challenges, and findings. c) Recommended follow up actions for CWW. d) Program and project strategic and tactical recommendations. e) Recommend epidemiologic studies to gather evidence supporting policy and implementation guidance to STH programs
