Position Description: We are searching for a Full Time Research Assistant located in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this Social Sciences research position, the right candidate will assist our team in collecting data in the field and assist with disseminating the findings to the public. The position is expected to last until 6/30/18.

Some Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Meet with participants for follow-up data collection for a study of contextual influences on adolescent risk behaviors • Monitor GPS location coordinates of participants’ phones • Trouble shoot issues with GPS or phone functioning • Data management • Maintain careful records of contacts • Coordinate work with research staff

Qualifications: • BA in a social science or related field • Must be able to engage teens in a friendly and open manner • Must work independently and follow research protocol • Work hours are afternoon through evening with expectation to work one weekend day every other week • Valid and current driver’s license • Access to reliable personal transportation to be used during work time • Local travel throughout the Bay Area

Organization Description: PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. PIRE social scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. PIRE practitioners and scientists provide training and technical assistance in many health-related areas to states and communities that are attempting to improve public health.
