Position Description: The Health Fair Coordinator will work with the Executive Planning Committee to coordinate and plan the 9th Annual BPSOS Health Fair in Norcross, GA and the 2017 BPSOS Morrow Health Fair in Morrow, GA. Intern will work offsite throughout the week and must be onsite once a week; the general duties and responsibilities of the intern include, but not limited to: Promoting and marketing BPSOS Community Health Fairs, establish and maintain relations with health services providers, vendors, sponsors and other community organizations, assisting in recruiting and coordinating volunteers, planning meetings, and completing all other tasks required to ensure successful events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Attend, execute, and provide support at both Health Fairs • Organize and manage planning meetings • Develop both Health Fairs’ plans and logistics • Promote and market BPSOS Health Fairs to prospective vendors, sponsors, and community organizations • Serve as liaison between vendors, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and community members • Recruit and coordinate medical and non-medical volunteers • Track Health Fairs’ impact through data collection at both events • Prepare post Health Fair reports • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed and as requested by the Health Fair Chair.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate has some college education, possess exceptional attitude, communication, and customer service skills, have prompt and regular attendance, and possess strong teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration skills in the work environment. Candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and other programs. Asian bilingual is highly preferred.

Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.

Organization Description: Boat People SOS-Atlanta, an affiliate of BPSOS, Inc. – a national Vietnamese- American community-based organization with 37 years of services to Vietnamese refugees and immigrants, is seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Community Health Fair Executive Planning Committee. BPSOS Community Health Fair was created to raise awareness and prevention of chronic disease, increase access to health services, and reduce health disparities in the medically underserved community of Georgia through health education, health screenings, doctor consultation and resource referrals.
