Position Description: Job Description: The Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute provides access to innovative approaches to the treatment of cancer patients. The Cancer Institute has a NIH-funded Translational Research Lab that is focused on the development of novel tools to improve genomic medicine for personalized care. In addition, the clinical research team provides patients with cutting-edge treatment options, including the NCI-MATCH trial, which evaluates the genomic profile of the patient's tumor for more tailored, targeted therapy. The Cancer Genetics Counselor can help an individual determine whether or not they have inherited an increased risk for cancer. The genetics counselor conducts a full family history intake at every session, orders genetic testing, provides a risk assessment, and provides extensive counseling to the high risk patient and their families. The Genetics Counselor works in conjunction with the Clinical Research Team and is a member of the Cancer Institute Cancer Committee.

Qualifications: Requirements: Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline. Master's of Science Degree in Genetic Counseling. 3 - 5 years experience.
