Position Description: JOB CODE: OHA17-0278 CLOSING DATE/TIME: 05/11/17 11:59 PM SALARY: $4,339.00 - $6,340.00 Monthly JOB TYPE: Permanent LOCATION: Portland, Oregon AGENCY: Oregon Health Authority-Public Health These employment opportunities are with the Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Health Protection (CHP), Health Care Regulation and Quality Improvement (HCRQI), which is part of the Oregon Health Authority. There is one permanent, full-time position located in Portland (800 NE Oregon Street). This position is classified and represented by a union. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Client Care Surveyor (CCS) assures that the citizens of the State of Oregon have access to safe, quality health care. This is accomplished through licensing and Medicare/Medicaid certification of specific health care providers with the following activities: evaluating for providers for compliance with licensing requirements, monitoring comprehensive survey processes, performing inspections, consulting, conducting investigations, gathering evidence, documenting findings, providing expert technical assistance, and developing and facilitating provider training.

Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Three years of experience in areas related to nursing, social work, developmental disabilities, dietetics/nutrition, or sanitation AND one of the following: • A Bachelor's degree in a health or human services field; or • A license as a Registered Nurse (if your license is out-of-state, you must provide a copy for verification) LPN certification and/or experience will not meet the minimum qualifications. Special Qualification: You must possess a current, valid and unencumbered Oregon Registered Nursing license by the time of job offer as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES • Experience providing nursing care • Experience with hospitals, ambulatory surgery, home health or hospice programs • Experience dealing with challenging provider concerns and complaints • Experience with federal and/or state health care regulatory compliance issues • Ability to solve complex problems within the limits of statute and rule • Knowledge of methods and techniques for analysis, review, interpretation and coordination of services for a wide variety of provider types and diverse complaint populations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience applying national, statewide and local community health care standards • Experience performing independent research, analyzing and/or interpreting information to resolve problems/complaints • Experience adapting to frequent changes in work schedules • Experience with electronic information systems, the internet and electronic mail
