Position Description: CSRA is seeking a Training Coordinator / Learning and Development professional to support the CDC Professional Development and Analysis (PDA) team. You should be a self motivated, career minded professional, with strong communication skills, drive and creativity to support our CDC customer and their mission to build a collaborative environment through leadership development, workforce training and professional growth. An individual in this position interacts with a wide range of individuals, from senior leaders to scientists within the CDC, as well as those within external organizations, to research and develop training plans and processes which produce measurable, positive outcomes through organizational performance or cultural change. Our customer also provides consultative services for individuals and teams within the division, with activities ranging from announcement, tracking and follow up to ensure completion of mandatory and recommended training activities as well as assessing and reporting outcomes from attendees.

A successful Senior Training Coordinator is expected to perform the following activities within their first 6 months of employment:

Perform an assessment, provide recommendations and work with government partners to develop and successfully execute the OPHPR Leadership and Talent Development Training Program. In order to provide measurable improvements, training programs need to be developed using a framework, such as the ADDIE model for instructional design, which not only analyze and benchmark current needs, but produce content and deliverables which can be presented, assessed and evaluated. The individual in this position is expected to approach to this effort by actively identifying internal and external resources and tools, performing needs assessments as well as soliciting feedback from leaders within the organization. A successful training consultant will be able to provide detailed and clear assessments as well as actionable recommendations to PDA leadership.

Ensure compliance with training needs and requirements for individuals and teams within the organization. The individual in this position must be able to clearly articulate, both verbally and in writing, the needs and expectations regarding training and performance initiatives. At the CDC Division level, all communication is expected to be clear, concise and be presented in a way which leads the reader to the desired outcome. A successful training consultant must be comfortable and proficient using soft skills at an interpersonal level as well as have the attention to detail to manage a variety of ongoing tasks, each with their own unique timeframes and deliverables.

Develop an understanding of the environment, as well as the organizational culture, which leads to a progressively more impactful contribution. As many of the activities on the PDA team are strategic and affect a large segment of the CDC population, their duration can range from weeks, to months, and in some cases, even years. Although a candidate is expected to possess the experience and ability to successfully perform the job requirements, it is important that they are able to develop their skills in order to grow within CSRA as well as within our customer’s organization. A successful training consultant will be able to clearly quantify their individual impact, as well as those of any efforts in which they participated.

Qualifications: Required -

BA and 3+ years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Experience researching topics and putting together recommendations/results Strong business communication / writing skills Experience taking initiative, and being creative to develop solutions that meet customer needs

Desired -

Experience working with CDC or their partners Masters degree in health, training and development, or related fields.
