Experience in hepatitis C treatment is helpful. Applicants must have an interest in telemedicine. Motivation to work with underserved patient populations is essential. Medical AIDS Outreach of Alabama (MAO) is a not- for-profit, community based program that is an innovative leader in rural health care and has a cutting-edge telemedicine program. MAO offers comprehensive outpatient services for HIV patients including HIV treatment, primary care for HIV patients, bilingual services, hepatitis C treatment, case management, mental health counseling, pharmacy adherence counseling and support, transportation services, an ACA navigator, a food pantry, and support groups. MAO also has a PrEP program, and a Hepatitis C treatment program for non-HIV patients. MAO has education, outreach and testing services, as well as a Family Clinic that sees infants born to HIV+ mothers. MAO has two full time sites (Montgomery and Dothan, AL) and ten satellite telemedicine sites, and is currently treating over 1,500 patients in over 26 counties. MAO is also the AIDS Training and Education Center (AETC) site for Alabama, providing opportunities in mentoring, teaching and distance learning. MAO providers have their own patient panels, and work in a team-based approach with staff dedicated for providing outstanding care.

Qualifications: The applicant must be board certified or eligible in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and/or Infectious Diseases. Clinical experience in HIV care is required, and experience in Hepatitis C treatment is helpful. Experience in telemedicine is helpful, and a willingness to be trained in telemedicine is essential.
