Position Description: **This position is funded by a two-year grant. The two years starts from the date of hire. The candidate hired while have an opportunity to work on obtaining additional grant funding to extend the duration of the position.

Major Responsibilities: -Implement our suite of Get With The Guidelines hospital-based quality improvement programs and our Mission: Lifeline System of Care program for heart attack patients within area hospitals and EMS agencies; -Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with hospital accounts, and other key healthcare stakeholder activities with regards to quality improvement; -Work with clinical teams (Physicians, Nurses, Quality Improvement, EMS, etc.)on quality and process improvement initiatives, specifically with regards to heart disease and stroke; -Engage and educate the medical community with regards to our initiatives (lead regional Task Forces, conduct workshops, teleconferences, etc.); -Work with state health departments, quality improvement organizations, health plans and other agencies to ensure that our quality improvement initiatives are key priorities within their organizations; and -Build meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the mission of the AHA.

Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. -2+ years experience in public health or a related healthcare field -Strong results orientation and ability to prioritize efforts towards key results with the ability to multi-task -Experience in managing and building relationships to accomplish goals -Strengths in collaboration and customer account management -Experience with data analysis a plus (no experience with statistical software packages is needed (i.e. SAS or SPSS)) -Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports and maintain accurate data -Able and willing to travel in required territory 30% of the time, with some overnight travel, and work outside standard hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends -Satisfactory background and reference checks upon offer of employment

Education: -Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field, Master’s preferred. *College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.
